VISION & MISSION

Our goal is to bring Sommelier profession to become amongst one of the recognized, respected position in hospitality industry. We organize wine workshops, tasting and Sommelier competition every year.

With this we hope to raise the standard of wine services, broadening of knowledge and preparing our members for their role as Sommelier in hospitality industry. As results, it will improve customers’ confidence and appreciation of wines.

COMPETITION

Indonesia Sommelier Competition has been in existence since 2009. The competition facilitates exchanges between numerous hotel and restaurant professionals, encourages healthy competition between entrants, motivates them to perfect their skills, and helps widen knowledge of the sommelier profession in the public at large.

To enter the competition, candidates must work in restaurants, wine-bars, with wine merchants or in the oenogastronomy business and an Indonesian citizen.

WHAT IS A SOMMELIER ?

A sommelier, or wine steward, is a trained and knowledgeable wine professional, normally working in fine restaurants, who specializes in all aspects of wine service as well as wine and food pairing.
